Wrapped up an interesting week in Shanghai talking visual representation (“how can we be sure we are accurately portraying those we photograph?”) , social justice, and nuclear weapons (“without them, would we have nuclear energy?”). And presenting “Fallout”, my Nobel Prize/ Nobel Peace Prize exhibition commission for Nobels Fredssenter | Nobel Peace Center, on nuclear weapons in our world and the work of ICAN.
Many thanks to Monika Lin, Antonius Wiriadjaja and the faculty at NYU Shanghai and to John McIntosh and @Qu Xinyi and team at the ShanghaiTech University, School of Creative Arts for hosting me for guest lectures and classes/workshops this week!
And to the students at both universities, cutting across art and science, who asked great questions.
Thank you too to Steven Harris, Kelly Pon, Jessie Yingying Gong for having us over to visit your gallery, office and studio respectively!
It was lovely to see you all and reconnect with old friends! Till next time, sunny Shanghai!
